ALIENS!

Helllooooo! Last Sunday my family hosted an Alien movie marathon. Not those lame alien movies, either- the legit Sigourney Weaver Alien quadrilogy. (Don't I sound smart? The dudes at our local Nerds R Us store taught me that word)

SO, here's a picture of the alien who noms on pretty much everyone for four glorious movies.

pretty, ain't she?

and here's Ellen Ripley (Sig Weav. I love her.)

BADASS

So naturally I needed alien nails for the occasion. Of course my aliens turned out much scarier than the ones from the movies, so beware...

AHHHH. FRIGHTENING TINY GREEN TEDDY BEARS.

So, the alien attempt kinda failed. But I did like the shooting star and the tiny Mars. Pinky is supposed to be the deep, dark space Ripley floated through before crash landing... ah, you just need to watch the movies.

Base: Wet n Wild Black Creme
Index: Sally Hansen Golden-I and Celeb City, striper brush
Middle: Stars- China Glaze OMG. Dots- Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Mars- China Glaze Papaya Punch with Zoya Tanzy on top. Top coat- China Glaze Fairy Dust.
Ring: Alien- Base of Snow Me White for opacity andEssie Pretty Edgy on top.
Pinky: ChG Fairy Dust

What do you think? Isn't he a cute teddy-alien? :)

Have a wonderful day!

MAC Ice Cream... Cupcake?

Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful day!

I did this mani earlier this week, and got tons of compliments on it. I was pretty proud! Let's jump right to the pics tonight instead of my rambling, shall we?

This is two coats of MAC Ice Cream Cake. On my ring fingers I did accent nails... cupcakes :)

"Frosting" and lines were done in Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. I used a dotting tool for the sprinkles in Zoya Pippa (yellow) and Mira (purple), and China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-le (blue). I dabbed on some Poshe and stuck the little heart rhinestone on top. Topped all of that off with a healthy coat of SV.

Not great formula on ICC. I love the color and the name, so it'll be stashed, but it chipped horribly within 24 hours. The cupcakes were cute though :) I'm pleased with this mani!

Oh hello, elusive and dangerous right hand.

Hope you like it!

I have a massive haul post coming soon. Hopefully it'll shock me into submission. I've ordered 3 indie polishes in the past 2 days, plus the Zoya blogger collection, and a birchbox... ahh. CRAP.

Zoya Zuza with a heart

Hello there lovelies! How are you tonight?

This mani was really fun for me. I received my Zoya Surf collection a day early, and when I got home from work there they were, waiting to be loved on! It's a beautiful collection. I'm a sucker for foils and  these made me squeal like a little girl. Zoya really delivered on this one, and remains my favorite brand. Let's take a look at the first from this collection, Zuza.

Zuza is a soft, dusty teal with a lovely foil finish. She applied like butter with no streaking, pooling, or dragging. Shown are two wonderful coats.

This is without a top coat. Isn't she gorgeous? That silver shimmer rocks my world.

I decided to glam Zuza up after a day of wear. Work always gives me major tipwear, so this was a great mask for the imperfections. I used black acrylic paint from a set I found at dollar tree and some nail art brushes from Ebay. I got 15 brushes for $3.00 and some change- suuuch an amazing deal! I always loved THIS tutorial from Nailside. The white dots were done with a dotting tool and then covered with a thin coat of Seche Vite.

What do you think? I'm so pleased!! The other hand doesn't look so good, but it's a work in progress. :)

Hope your Saturday was lovely. Thanks for coming by!

Essence Dress For a Moment

Hello there! How is everyone?? Today's mani is simple, as far as nail art goes, but I'm pretty proud of it. I lost my striper brush, so some dinky paintbrushes are going to have to do. The base color is Essence Color & Go - Dress for a Moment. The black and white dots were done with the tips of kebab skewers (cheap dotting tools!) in Sinful Colors - Snow Me White and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out.  The stripe and swirlies are China Glaze - Urban Night.

Simple! Just a dotted french. Really diggin' it, though, so this will prolly come back in other colors.

top coat of Seche Vite.

Pics make all the flaws stand out big time. I think it's kinda cute! What do you think??

Have a great night :)
